Following social media platforms -- most notably Twitter and Facebook -- banning Trump from using the service, X -- the social media platform owned by Elon Musk -- will host live video town halls with former President Donald J. Trump.
Trump and Musk conducted a glitch-filled discussion on Monday night but not one that happened.
The alternative to mainstream social media came from inside the house. The conversation on X between Mr. Trump had been billed as a triumphant moment for the social media platform.
